New brewery, taproom will move into former Twin Cities newspaper space

Loons Landing officially signed the lease this week.

A new brewery and taproom is set to open in a former Twin Cities newsroom.

Loons Landing said this week it officially signed a lease to take over the space at  12925 Eagle Creek Parkway in Savage, Minnesota. That address had been the home of Southwest News Media, which publishes six community newspapers in that area.

Southwest News Media is still in the same building, though now at 12931 Eagle Creek Parkway.

Loons Landing is owned by three people: CEO Amy Johnson, COO Paul Ough and CTO/CFO Scott Johnson. The goal, according to the company's website, is to open in January of 2022.

They currently have eight beers on tap, all of them designed by Loons Landing's founders. You can see details about each brew here.

"Now, it's time to get to work. We've got a lot to do before we can open the doors, but we look forward to hosting all of our VIPs for a tasting party very soon," the company wrote in its lease announcement.
