A new trailer for "Inside Llewyn Davis" by Minneapolis-born Oscar-winning filmmakers Joel and Ethan Coen reveals more footage of their upcoming 1960s folk music tale.
The footage is part of the green band version of the trailer released this week. An uncensored red band version was released prior to the film's debut at the Cannes Film Festival in the south of France in May.
Unlike the red band trailer which featured Bob Dylan's "Farewell" playing throughout, the new trailer has "Fare Thee Well" performed by "Inside Llewyn Davis" star Oscar Isaac and Marcus Mumford. The songs are among the 14 tracks that will be featured on the song's upcoming soundtrack, which also features more tunes by Issac, as well as his co-star Justin Timberlake.
"Inside Llewyn Davis," which will released in select theaters Dec. 6 and expand into more venues Dec. 20, follows struggling musician Llewyn Davis (Isaac) as he tries to navigate his way through the burgeoning folk music scene in New York’s City’s Greenwich Village in the early 1960s.
The film also stars Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, F. Murray Abraham and Roseau native Garrett Hedlund.
"Inside Llewyn Davis" was one of the 20 films in competition at Cannes, and emerged with the festival's prestigious Grand Prix award.
The Hollywood Reporter says the film received a five-minute standing ovation at its Cannes premiere.
