Nicholas David to tour with Avett Brothers, announces solo gigs

Eagan singer and "The Voice" finalist Nicholas David is going on the road with folk favorites The Avett Brothers, the Star Tribune reports.

David, whose real name is Nicholas David Mrozinski, will join the band on tour Oct. 4 -18 for some gigs in the west.

The paper says David has hired one of Los Angeles' biggest firms, the Mitch Schneider Organization, to handle his publicity.

The firm is already highlighting David's new marketing campaign, which begins Wednesday night with a special showcase at the El Rey Theater in LA Wednesday night.

The organization is also handling publicity on David's release Say Goodbye," a new four-song EP produced by "The Voice's" house band leader Paul Mirkovitch that topped the iTunes Alternative Chart in June.

One of the tracks on the EP is a cover of the Joe Cocker hit "You Are So Beautiful," which David sang to his teary-eyed fiancee, Krista, on "The Voice" last year.

Individually, David has booked some more local dates, including two shows Dec. 21 at the Paramount Theater in St. Cloud, and a pair of dates at First Ave. Dec. 27-28 in Minneapolis.

Zoinks! Online lists all of David's upcoming tour dates, both as a solo artist and with the Avetts.

The website says that David will also be playing a gig in Hibbing Sept. 24, but the venue is still to be determined.

David reunited with some of his fellow "Voice" competitors in a pair of shows at First Avenue in May.

Also known as "The Feelin'," David placed third on the NBC singing competition in December.
