NY Gyro to open 7th Minnesota location in Lyn-Lake neighborhood
A New York Gyro is set to open at the prominent corner of Lyndale Avenue and Lake Street in Minneapolis.
The property at 2944 Lyndale Ave. S., opposite Wrecktangle Pizza, was formerly home to hot dog restaurant Chicago's Very Own before it closed after a year in business.
A filing with the Minnesota Department of Revenue confirmed the sale by the Chicago-based business on Oct. 20 to Rehman LLC, a business consulting firm that owns NY Gyro.
The property sold for just over $1 million. An opening date for the new NY Gyro is yet to be announced.
Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reported that the ownership group doesn't have any plans to close the 312 W. Lake St. NY Gyro, but the business wanted a bigger space in the city.
The chain, which has four locations in St. Cloud, one in Columbia Heights, and one in Willmar, specializes in Greek, Middle Eastern, Indian, and American fast food.
