Off-price retail store Sierra will open a St. Cloud location in August

It is the brand's first Minnesota store outside the Twin Cities.

The off-price retailer Sierra will open its first Minnesota store outside of the Twin Cities next month.

The company's seventh Minnesota location will open in St. Cloud on Aug. 14 at Rivertown Village (3959 2nd St. S.), Sierra announced Thursday. The brand (formerly known as Sierra Trading Post) bills itself as an affordable option for apparel, footwear and more, touting prices that are 20-60% below those of full-price retailers.

The whole thing will be about 21,300 square feet, with an "easy-to-shop" layout and new arrivals coming in regularly, the announcement said. The store's regular hours will be 9:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.

Sierra is also donating $10,000 donation to Anna Marie’s Alliance in St. Cloud to mark its opening. The nonprofit provides shelter and support to survivors of domestic violence.

Sierra's six existing Minnesota stores are all in the Twin Cities, with locations in Woodbury, Rosevile, Richfield, Eden Prairie, Eagan and Burnsville.

Its parent company, TJX Companies, also owns T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods.
