Children's entertainers the Okee Dokee Brothers and the late composer Stephen Paulus are among the Minnesotan musicians nominated in the 2015 Grammy Awards.

There are 5 nominees with links to the Twin Cities included in the shortlist for the February ceremony, the Pioneer Press reports, chief among them being beloved composer Paulus (pictured below), who died from complications from a stroke in October.

He earned a posthumous nomination in the category for best contemporary classical composition for his work "Concerto for Two Trumpets and Band".

The Okee Dokee Brothers, made up of Colorado natives Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing who moved to the Twin Cities seven years ago, are no strangers to the Grammys, having picked up the Best Children's Album Award in 2013.

They are up for the same award at next year's ceremony, and it follows a popular series of performances at the Minnesota State Fair this past summer

"We're happy the Grammys are noticing independently made family music as we like to call it," Melander told the Star Tribune.

Elsewhere, St. Paul folk label Red House Records has received a best folk album nomination credit on Eliza Gilkyson's "Nocturne Diaries", Minnesota native Craig Hella Johnson has a nomination for conducting the choir Conspirare, while former University of Minnesota student Lila Downs is up for best Latin pop album, the Pioneer Press notes.

Chicago label Numero Group was nominated in the best album notes category for its compilation album "Purple Snow: Forecasting the Minneapolis Sound", which featured a variety of 1960s and 70s soul bands from the Twin Cities, the Star Tribune reports.

The Grammy Awards will be held in Los Angeles on February 8.
