Oklahoma TV man moving to Minnesota to anchor KSTP-TV news

Paul Folger is a native of North Carolina.

KSTP-TV announced Monday that it is bringing in a new face to anchor it's weekday evening and nightly news.

Paul Folger, a veteran anchor who is currently winding down his role as an anchor at ABC-owned KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City, will be joining KSTP's newscasts beginning Aug. 1.

"Paul’s dedication to local news and his eagerness to be a part of our community makes him a perfect fit for our team!" said KSTP News Director Anne Wittenborg.

Once in Minnesota, Folger will anchor KSTP's weekday newscasts at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. The station doesn't say if he'll anchor the news solo or have a co-anchor.

Folger is a native of North Carolina and previously worked at TV stations in Florida, Texas, North Carolina and Virginia.

KSTP says he's an avid cyclist, runner and swimmer.

You can follow Folger on Twitter and Facebook, where he seems like a really down-to-earth guy.
