Rachel Taylor's wedding day will be one she'll never forget, for more than one reason.

As well as marrying now-husband Calvin, the 22-year-old leapt into action as they were on the way home from their nuptials after coming across a four-vehicle crash scene just off of I-494 in South St. Paul.

Still wearing her wedding dress, Taylor went to assist a woman who had suffered a leg injury after being pinned between two vehicles.

Calvin Taylor, 23, took the above picture that was shared widely on Facebook, and has since seen the Inver Grove Heights couple featured in news outlets nationally.

"As we pulled over, we saw people pulling a woman from between two cars with a gash in her leg that went down to her femur," he wrote. "My rockstar of a bride gets out of the car, wedding dress and all, and rushes over to help while I called 911.

"Rachel held this woman and talked to her so nicely and helped her as well as the paramedics that came later. She held her for at least 15 minutes until the EMTs got her on a stretcher."

FOX 9 reports that Rachel is currently studying for her nursing license, and hopes to be qualified soon.

"I am so blessed to have a wonderful wife who will always take care of people who need it, and we were blessed that we were able to be in the right place at the right time to make a difference," her husband added.

"I can’t wait for a hospital to scoop her up so she can make a difference in people’s lives every day."
