A piece of a popular children's ride at the Forest Lake Carnival broke off on Saturday.

The ride, known as "The Scrambler," was in motion with people riding it when a piece of one of its many carriages broke off, according to Forest Lake police.

Fortunately, nobody was in the seat that malfunctioned.

The carnival shut down the ride for the rest of the night but had it up and running again on Sunday.

The Scrambler is an amusement park ride that features two-person carriages that spin in one direction while the ride as a whole spins in the opposite direction.

A ride malfunctioned at the Forest Lake Carnival in 2017, too. According to a report from the Star Tribune, a ride known as "Fireball" stopped working and left riders stranded upside down for nine minutes. No injuries were reported then either.
