Hit pop-folk singer Ed Sheeran has recorded a classic song by Minnesota-born music icon Bob Dylan for his new contribution to the ONE campaign, the Wall Street Journal reports.

Sheeran is covering "Masters of War" for ONE's Agit8 campaign, where artists from all across the globe record their favorite protest songs as a measure to build pressure for action against extreme poverty leading up to the G8 summit.

The 22-year-old British musician released the video for the song on YouTube last week.

A Cold War protest song, "Masters of War" was originally released on Dylan's "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" album in 1963.

Sheeran, whose hits include "The A Team" and "Lego House," is currently on the road with country crossover star Taylor Swift on "RED" tour.

The tour will play Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Sept. 7 and 8.
