The normally press-shy Prince is speaking about the entertainment industry and race in an interview with a British music magazine, the Pioneer Press reports.

The Minnesota music icon has been in London for the past month on a guerrilla-style concert tour to promote his forthcoming album "Plectrum Electrum."

But while plugging the release in an exclusive interview with Mojo, Prince took the opportunity to address race issues in Hollywood, asking interviewer Will Hodgkinson, "Didn't you know that black people don't get a second chance?"

According to the Pioneer Press, Prince also referred to comedian Chris Rock's viewpoint about race in the movie industry.

"It's like Chris Rock said: Leonardo DiCaprio can make one bad movie after another, and he just keeps going. Chris Rock makes a bad movie, and he doesn't work again. Black people aren't allowed to make mistakes," Prince told Hodgkinson.

Prince, 55, also reportedly criticized the music industry in the interview, saying "People don't understand real musicians anymore. Jack White is great, he's the real thing, but he isn't having hits. Why aren't Vintage Trouble or Lianne La Havas having hits?"

La Havas is the British soul singer who hosted Prince in his first of several London gigs earlier this month. The BBC says about 10 people attended the two-song acoustic set, held in La Havas' living room.

Before his impromptu tour of London, Prince appeared on the post-Super Bowl episode of the FOX sitcom "New Girl," which attracted more than 26 million viewers.
