Prince's tribute show moved to St. Paul, here's who will perform

More details regarding the upcoming Prince tribute concert have been released.

As it turns out, the show won't be held at U.S. Bank Stadium like originally planned. Instead it'll be held at the smaller Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on Oct. 13.

Prince's sister, Tyka Nelson, first announced some details regarding the tribute show in July. Around that time, the late pop star's family gave a statement to The Associated Press, saying there is “no better place to do it than his hometown of Minneapolis.”

The U.S. Bank Stadium's purple seats also would have been a nice touch. No word yet why the venue has been switched to St. Paul's Xcel Energy Center.

Here's who will perform

We do finally know who will be performing at the show, though.

According to a news release and show poster, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Christina Aguilera, John Mayer and Tori Kelly will all be there.

So will some of Prince's Paisley Park cohorts – Morris Day and the Time, The Revolution, and New Power Generation. However, Sheila E won't be there. Last month, she said on Facebook she'll miss the tribute show.

Other performers include Anita Baker, Doug E. Fresh, Luke James, Bilal, and Mint Condition.

"The family is extremely excited to provide an opportunity for the world to participate in the tribute for our brother Prince. This concert will be an event not to be missed,” Prince’s sister Sharon Nelson said in a statement.

Tickets go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. You can find them on Ticketmaster or by calling the Xcel Energy Center box office at 800-745-3000.
