There's a happy ending to the tail of the puppy who was stolen from an Animal Humane Society shelter in St. Paul.

After being missing for weeks, Beezie the terrier-pitbull mix was located by St. Paul Sergeant Bob Bisson and returned to the shelter on Thursday.

She had been missing since late February, when a man and a woman took her for a walk before driving away from her.

"After a lot of work, Sgt. Bob Bisson tracked her down today and brought her back – safe and sound," St. Paul Police Department tweeted.

Per the Pioneer Press, the man who took the puppy told police he'd seen the Facebook post asking for tips, and that he'd planned on returning the dog.

The newspaper notes police told the suspect the shelter just wanted the puppy back, and didn't want to press charges.
