After closing some parkways to allow more room for social distancing for trail users, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board announced dates for reopening the roadways to vehicle traffic.
In fact, by Aug. 5, all parkways will have reopened.
Workers will begin removing barriers Aug. 3 at Cedar Lake, Harriet Lake, West Bde Maka Ska and West River Parkways. East Bde Maka Ska Parkway is set to open July 30 pending weather and a minor maintenance project.
The board began reopening lesser-used parkways in June.
At its May 6 meeting, the board voted to spend up to $250,000 to keep the more pedestrian-heavy parkways closed. Those funds will have been used by Aug. 3, according to the board.
