Replacing Eric Perkins, KARE 11 introduces Reggie Wilson as sports director

Reggie Wilson will debut at KARE 11 in mid-September.

A new sports director has been hired at KARE 11 to replace Eric Perkins, whose 25-year career at the Twin Cities NBC affiliate ended August 8. Beginning Sept. 20, Reggie Wilson will become the face of KARE 11 sports.

Wilson will arrive in Minnesota from Ohio, where he is the host of Sports of All Sorts at WCOP-TV in Cincinnati. He'll step in Sept. 20 and be part of the evening and nightly news alongside anchors Randy Shaver, Julie Nelson and meteorologist Belinda Jensen.

“Reggie Wilson is a dynamic addition to the KARE 11 news team,” said KARE 11 President and General Manager Bill Dallman, in a statement. “Reggie is a sports journalist who will work sources to get interviews and break major developments on all the teams in the Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin area.”

Wilson said: “I look forward to embedding myself within the Twin Cities and surrounding communities. It’s game time and I’m ready to get to work!”

Wilson is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, where he got his broadcasting credentials at the University of Missouri.
