Rod Stewart postpones St. Paul show scheduled for Wednesday

He was due to perform with Cyndi Lauper.

St. Paul just can't catch a break, it seems.

Canadian rapper Drake has twice postponed his show at the Xcel Energy Center over the past month, and now Rod Stewart is following suit.

The Scottish crooner was due to take to the stage in St. Paul on Wednesday evening along with "Time After Time" singer Cyndi Lauper.

But his plans have been kiboshed by strep throat, which has left him unable to perform in St. Paul as well as his Tuesday gig in Kansas City.

"Gutted that strep throat has left me unable to perform this week in Kansas City and the Twin Cities," Stewart said.

"Thanks to the fans and promoters for their support and swift rescheduling - I look forward to seeing you in October."

The St. Paul show will be rescheduled to Sunday, Oct. 14, with all tickets honored for the new dates, while refunds are also available at point of purchase.
