Semi hauling massive wind turbine blade gets stuck on a highway near Duluth

Give the driver credit for even attempting to make a U-Turn.

Some people traveling in northern Minnesota early Tuesday morning were greeted by something they've probably never seen before: a giant wind turbine blade blocking all lanes of traffic.

Cloquet police say a semi hauling the oversized load was traveling on Hwy. 33 north of Cloquet when it got stuck trying to make a U-Turn near Hwy. 2. The giant blade wound up blocking the north and southbound lanes of Hwy. 33, causing delays and forcing some drivers to find alternate routes.

The blockage was cleared before 9 a.m., thankfully.

Google tells us that wind turbine blades have a length of about 116 feet.
