A year later than expected, the Hy-Vee in Spring Lake Park is set to open by the end of the month.
The grand opening was delayed last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now it is set to open its doors to shoppers on Tuesday, May 25. Bring Me The News learned of the opening plans in February, though it wasn't until now that an official opening date was announced to the public.
The grocery store at 8155 Central Ave. NE in Spring Lake Park is near Hy-Vee's Fast and Fresh Express convenience store that opened in December 2019.
ABC Newspapers says this Hy-Vee store will be 76,000 square feet and includes a 8,700-square-foot cafe.
A company spokesperson told BMTN that it will include a drive-through pharmacy canopy on the south side building for customer prescription pickup. The store will also have an attached wine and spirits store.
Another Hy-Vee was set to open this spring in Maplewood. There are now 12 Hy-Vee stores in the Twin Cities: Robbinsdale, New Hope, Eagan, Oakdale, Plymouth, Brooklyn Park, Savage, Maple Grove, Cottage Grove, Shakopee, Lakeville and Spring Lake Park.
