St. Cloud named one of 'most romantic cities' – and nobody can believe it

As if there was any doubt.

Very few things in life are more romantic than giant slabs of granite.

Somehow, someway, St. Cloud – the Granite City in central Minnesota – has made a list of the 25 most romantic cities in the United States. And the city known for college hockey, college parties and endless stoplights didn't just sneak into the top 25: It's No. 4.

EliteSingles apparently conducted a survey of 150,000 single people to find out if they agree with the statement "I bring romance to my relationships."

As you can see in the results, there must be a lot of romantic singles in St. Cloud.

  1. Boynton Beach, Florida
  2. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
  3. Cypress, California
  4. St. Cloud, Minnesota
  5. Sugar Land, Texas
  6. Boca Raton, Florida
  7. Pembroke Pines, Florida
  8. Corona, California
  9. Fort Worth, Texas
  10. Wilton Manors, Florida

Probably not surprisingly, the results of the survey was met by some disbelieving reactions from those on social media, who called into question St. Cloud's status as a cupid contender.

Never been to St. Cloud? Well, according to Trip Advisor, there are four romantic things to do there.

You can check out Clemens Gardens or Munsinger Gardens, hold hands or something like that at Riverside Park, and last but not least, check out a movie at Marcus Parkwood Cinema, which is technically in Waite Park.

Honestly, those gardens are hidden gems in Minnesota. Plus they're not far from Val's Hamburgers (right by the train tracks), which are to die for.

Here's exactly how EliteSingles got its information:

"For this study, we looked at random, anonymous user data from 150,000 singles registered with EliteSingles. In particular, we looked at responses to the statement ‘I bring romance to my relationships.’ The more strongly people agreed with this statement, the more romantic they were deemed to be."

The most romantic city in Wisconsin is pretty much in Minnesota, because it's Superior. That actually makes sense because, you know, there's a giant lake and amazing scenery in the area.

North Dakota? It's Fargo, obviously. Nothing screams romance more than football national championships.

South Dakota? Sioux Falls is the winner there. No respect for Deadwood.

Iowa? Davenport. Honestly, we have no idea what's in Davenport, but the singles there are starving for love and romance.
