The chef behind the brilliance at a popular St. Paul restaurant will be competing on a reality cooking show this weekend.

Justin Sutherland, the head chef of Handsome Hog, will be sweating it on in the kitchen against other high-end chefs on Food Network's Iron Chef America. The episode is set to air Sunday at 9 p.m., at which time Handsome Hog will be hosting a viewing party at the restaurant.

Sutherland told MSP Magazine that he cooked against (the show has already been taped) Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli and trying to impress judges Susan Feniger and Jonathan Waxman.

Handsome Hog is contemporary Southern cuisine restaurant that refers to itself as "pig-centric." It's located at 203 E. 6th St. in St. Paul.

The restaurant's website has a fantastic description of Sutherland, noting that he asked for a EasyBake Oven for his fifth birthday.

Guarnaschelli is a regular judge on Chopped and won the title of Iron Chef on The Next Iron Chef: Redemption. She is the executive chef of Butter restaurant and The Darby in New York City.

Iron Chef America is in its 13th season on Food Network.
