A painter from St. Paul was selected Tuesday to create the commemorative artwork for the 2014 Minnesota State Fair, the Pioneer Press reports.

Emily L. Taylor, who lives with her family just a few blocks from the State Fairgrounds, was selected after a review of 154 artwork submissions from 2011 to 2013.

Taylor's painting will be unveiled in June, State Fair officials say.

"This has been an amazing experience," Taylor said in a State Fair press release. "Having the opportunity to work with such a great group of people in an effort to help preserve the State Fair as we know and love it is a privilege. I can only hope that this painting will capture for the public what I feel is the essence of the Great Minnesota Get-Together's community and spirit."

Fair officials say Taylor graduated from South High School and attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, where she earned her BFA degree. She now works as professional artist and teacher.

The State Fair says commemorative posters, a limited number of signed giclee prints and other merchandise featuring the artwork will be available for purchase after the painting is unveiled in June. Money earned from the purchases will go to support the Minnesota State Fair Foundation and its mission to preserve and improve State Fair buildings, grounds and educational experiences.

The painting will be on display the entire 12-day run of this year's State Fair, which runs from Aug. 21 through Labor Day, Sept. 1.

According to the State Fair, Taylor's commemorative artwork will be the 11th in a series of works created annually for the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
