State Fair Food Parade tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday

It's better than nothing!

Tickets for Minnesota State Fair Food Parade go on sale today (Friday) at 10 a.m. At 10 a.m., tickets will be available for purchase here. Tickets are $20 per vehicle for up to 5 people. Vehicles with more than 5 people will be need an extra $20 ticket per person, but it's also key to know that kids ages 4 and younger aren't counted.

The food parade runs Aug. 20-23, Aug. 27-30, and Sept. 3-7, with a trip through the 1.5 mile State Fair course expected to last multiple hours, according to fair officials.

Each ticket gets you the following:

  • Entrance to the food parade.
  • Insulated Minnesota State Fair lunch bag.
  • Entertainment and activities along the parade route.
  • Goodie bag of surprises.

Food purchases along the parade route are not included, so the $20 ticket simply gets you into the event. People in the vehicle tasked with ordering and paying for the food are encouraged to wear a mask to help prevent COVID-19 transmission. Plus, you should bring pens to write down orders and for kids to play BINGO along the route.

The State Fair says it is limiting the number of vehicles per hour to make sure guests get through the parade as efficiently as possible, with KSTP's Chris Egert reporting that the limit is 1,000 cars per day.

Among the vendors confirmed for the drive-thru are fair mainstays including Sweet Martha's Cookies, Mouth Trap Cheese Curds, Pronto Pups, and Turkey to Go.
