Here at Bring Me The News, we regularly get emails from consumer websites about various fun studies or rankings. And every once in a while, one is eyebrow-raising enough that we have to share it.
This latest instance is courtesy of WalletHub, a personal finance website that recently decided to rank the best beach towns to live in located near a lake (or lakes).
Somehow, the list of 46 includes a scant two cities from the Land of 10,000 Lakes ... while our neighbors to the east have eight towns on the list.
WalletHub took a few factors into account for its rankings: Affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The site then tallied up scores and ranked the towns in descending order.
Eden Prairie made the list at No. 14, with Duluth right behind it at No. 15. That's it.
In a state with more than 11,000 lakes, WalletHub found just two deemed worthy of its list.
Wisconsin, meanwhile, had Brookfield (10th), Pewaukee (11th), Mequon (16th), Stoughton (21st), Oak Creek (27th), Shorewood (29th), Kenosha (31st) and Racine (36th).
Somewhat amusingly, Eden Prairie ranked 10th best among all towns for affordability, and 31st for quality of life. Duluth was essentially flipped: eighth overall for quality of life, but 31st for affordability.
