Prepare for a sugar high at the Mall of America starting next week.

The latest arrival at the Bloomington megamall is the Sugar Factory American Brasserie, which is opening its first location in Minnesota to join the almost two-dozen it has dotted around the U.S.

Opening on level 3, South on Tuesday, Nov. 12, the eatery will comprise a full-service cafe, a sweet shop, a retail store, indoor and outdoor dining areas, two full-service bars, and a private dining room.

So like everything else at the MOA, it'll be massive.

What does it serve? Well the clue's in the name, with the dining experience bringing with it a "floor to ceiling candy wall" featuring more than 500 sweet treats, including novelty and bulk candy.

Its desserts are ridiculous, including a "King Kong Sundae" that features a stomach-churning 24 scoops of ice cream. Its milkshake concoctions include Nutella Banana, complete with a chocolate-dipped banana, and a "Tie Dye Milkshake" that's a hallucinatory mixture of red, blue, green and yellow white chocolate ganache, served with a Pop Rocks and cotton candy garnish.

Its dining room is decorated with "red-tufted banquette seating" and lit by crystal chandeliers, with savory menu items including crepes, "monster burgers" and specialty pizzas.

For the adults dragged to the venue by their kids, the Sugar Factory has a full menu of 64-ounce boozy cocktails served in "smoking candy goblets."

"Sugar Factory is all about celebrating the sweetest moments in life. We create a fun, unforgettable dining experience for any age group, at every location," said Sugar Factory Owner Charissa Davidovici in a press release.

"Expanding to Mall of America was a no-brainer and we're thrilled to be opening in one of the top retail, dining and entertainment destinations in the country."
