We're only two weeks removed from a historic blizzard and now it's time to turn our attention to a shot at 80-degree weather across much of Minnesota early next week.
According to the National Weather Service Twin Cities, temps will rise to 70 degrees on Sunday in Minneapolis, with mid-70s possible across western Minnesota.
Highs across the southern half of the state should be in the 70s again Monday, before they have the chance to eclipse the 80-degree mark for the first time this year on Tuesday.
Along with the warmth comes our first chances of thunderstorms Sunday-Tuesday.
- Sunday: Spotty t-storms late across western Minnesota.
- Monday: Some morning rumbles otherwise a nice day.
- Tuesday: Best chance for storms, some severe possible
Yep, the NWS is already talking about severe thunderstorms being possible on Tuesday. We'll keep an eye on things and update the chances as the storm system gets closer.
We'll also get a first taste of more humid weather, with dewpoints climbing into the 50s, maybe even 60, on Monday and Tuesday.
