Sun Country to offer $49 flights if you book on Black Friday

Airlines are slashing prices for the busiest shopping weekend of the year.

Twin Cities airline Sun Country has announced it'll be cutting prices to as low as $49 one-way from MSP Airport on Black Friday.

The sale prices will be valid only this Friday starting at 5 a.m. Central Time, and while Sun Country hasn't revealed which destinations will be included in the sale, it does say it includes "warm weather getaways."

The prices will be available for trips from several of Sun Country's originating airports, including its main base at MSP.

The airline is encouraging people to "shop early" on Black Friday as the fares may sell out.

Other caveats to bear in mind? The price is only available for travel Monday to Thursday, not Friday to Sunday, and for trips planned between January 7 and March 7, 2019.

And while $49 may be the low price, you won't find this price available on all of its flights from MSP, from which Sun Country flies to dozens of locations.

Of course, the $49 each-way price doesn't include the price of baggage and other extras, which can add a not insignificant amount to the total cost of your trip.

Sun Country's price-cutting comes days before other airlines are expected to offer deep discounts the day after Cyber Monday, which has become known as "Travel Tuesday."
