Sustainable shoe brand Allbirds opens retail shop in downtown Minneapolis

It's just the 13th Allbirds store in all the U.S.

Allbirds has landed in downtown Minneapolis.

The sustainable shoe company, which started online and has slowly introduced physical shops, opened a retail location in the North Loop in late April.

The shop is located at 219 N. 2nd St., in the space formerly occupied by Russell + Hazel. It is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday.

It is not just the first Allbirds store in Minnesota, but is the second Allbirds retail store in the Midwest (the other is in Chicago); the 13th location in the U.S.; and 24th in the entire world.

The company announced the Minneapolis location's opening in an April 29 email.

Allbirds was founded in 2016, and is now estimated to be worth more than $1 billion. It has recently expanded its product offerings to include men's and women's apparel, including socks, T-shirts, jackets and underwear.
