A diamond engagement ring, a Gibson guitar, numerous outfits and an early song tape belonging to Prince are being auctioned off by his ex-wife.

Some 95 items of memorabilia owned by Mayte Garcia and Prince's former manager Owen Husney are under the hammer at Nate D. Sanders Auctions in Los Angeles, with the auction ending on March 17.

The top priced item is the diamond engagement ring with which Prince proposed to Garcia (the pair got married in Minneapolis in 1996). It's accompanied by five "handwritten heart notes" the Purple One wrote "to lead her on a romantic journey to the ring."

The 2.2 karat diamond ring and the notes require a minimum bid of $100,000.

Also on the auction block are:

  • A vintage Gibson L-series 6 string acoustic guitar Prince used in the 1970s to "sketch out and record early demos." Min bid: $60,000.
  • A 50 piece set of China from Prince's wedding to Garcia. Min bid: $50,000.
  • A 3-piece turquoise outfit worn by Prince at a press conference in Marbella, Spain in August 1998. Min bid: $30,000.
  • Electric blue shirt and pants with beige shoes worn on the cover of his 1999 album "Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" and on stage with Lenny Kravitz performing "American Woman." Min bid: $30,000.
  • A "one-of-a-kind" 1978 cassette tape containing 6 early Prince songs – including an early version of "Sometimes It Snows in April." Min bid: $20,000.
  • A Scorpio diamond necklace worn by Prince when he met Prince Charles in 1998. Min bid: $30,000.

Hello Magazine reports Garcia was the inspiration for Prince's hit "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World," first attracting his attention as a belly dancer before they married when she was just 22 years old. They separated four years later.

The Star Tribune reports Husney, formerly from the Twin Cities but now living in Los Angeles, was running a Minneapolis advertising agency which he quit to become Prince's first manager, helping him land a recording contract with Warner Bros. in 1977.
