The Avett Brothers cancel headline show just 2 days before Basilica Block Party
With just 48 hours to go before they were due to take to the stage at Minneapolis' Basilica Block Party, The Avett Brothers have backed out.
The folk rockers were due to headline Saturday night of the festival in the grounds of the Basilica of Saint Mary, but it was announced Thursday evening that they are pulling out "out of an abundance of caution due to a COVID-19 exposure."
"While we are disappointed, we are confident that this decision is necessary in order to ensure the health and safety of the community," a statement from event organizers said.
There's no word at this time if organizers are seeking a replacement act for the Saturday night.
Also on the bill for Saturday night on the Great Clips Stage are Spoon, Ripe, and Jensen McRae, with acts booked on other stages including Black Pumas, Jade Bird, Zach Bryan, Diane (fka D Mills), The Stress of Her Regard, and Bora York.
Friday night's show is being headline by AJR, with other acts including Tate McRae, JP Saxe, and Forest Blakk.
