The best beer bar in Minnesota, picked by voters
A Mankato watering hole was named the Minnesota winner for the 2017 Great American Beer Bars competition.
The Brewers Association's website CraftBeer.com surveyed 7,000 people to come up with the best places to drink beer in each state, and Mankato Brewery topped the list for Minnesota.
Mankato Brewery, which started producing beer in 2012, has six seasonal bottled or canned beers and 14 draught lines, CraftBeer.com says, noting the brewery is "focused on creating authentic beers that reflect the heritage of the region and its people."
The brewery hosts live, local music every Tuesday in the taproom (and some other days), as well as other events. Among the ones coming up: brewery tours and a cornhole tournament.
This is the second year CraftBeer.com has included bars in every state on its Great American Beer Bars list (previously the competition was categorized by region). In 2016, the winner from Minnesota was The Happy Gnome in St. Paul.
