'The best fair ever' as couple gets engaged at State Fair Food Parade
A newly-engaged couple has proclaimed the 2020 Minnesota State Fair the "best fair ever."
According to tweets, Courtney Schroeder proposed to Alex Reyes at the Food Parade over the weekend using a banner being flown above the event by airplane. The couple met on the dating website Bumble, according to a tweet.
The Minnesota State Fair was canceled this year due to COVID-19. In its place, the fair has been holding a Food Parade, tickets for which sold out quickly.
The State Fair doesn't keep track of how many proposals happen during the Great Minnesota Get-Together (they only find out about it when someone tags the Fair on social media), but a spokesperson told BMTN that as far as their aware, this is the first Food Parade proposal.
Last year, the State Fair was tagged in about 15 engagement posts.
