Movies? Definitely cool.

Science? Also pretty cool. (At least Pinkman thinks so.)

The first ever Northstar Science Film Festival starts Thursday afternoon in St. Paul. The fest wants to "celebrate the collision of science and entertainment" over its three days. It's not science documentaries, nor is it sci-fi, the website says.

The theme this inaugural year is "Living on the edge." The movies selected will speak to the "frontiers of life: space, epidemic diseases, popular culture and other exciting areas illuminated by science on film."

What that means is a bunch of science-themed films, mixed with discussions and activities as well.

For example, there's this short film "Nzara '76," about an unknown outbreak that hits the border between Zaire ad Sudan. At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, there's a screening, followed by a talk with director Jon Noble, and some scientists.

On the other end, they're airing ""Captain America: Civil War" on Saturday at 2:20 p.m. So there's a range of films.

The festival is being run by Northstar, a Minnesota nonprofit. It's in St. Paul, at the Bedlam Theatre, Twin Cities PBS, and Tin Whiskers Brewing Co. Here's a map.

You can check out the schedule here.

You can buy day passes here (one day is $25, a pass for all three days is $65). Or there are individual movie tickets here.

The mayor even proclaimed it "Northstar Science Film Festival Week" in St. Paul.

Take it from here, Jesse.

This is a test inclusion.
