The kaleidoscopic Bob Dylan mural in Minneapolis is complete

A mural dedicated to one of Minnesota's most famous musicians is complete.

It took internationally known Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra, with the help of a few other artists, two weeks to paint the colorful tribute to Bob Dylan on the side of the 15 Building – located at Fifth Street and Hennepin Avenue in downtown Minneapolis.

The many-faced Bob Dylan mural, which is the largest Kobra has done outside of his home country, was inspired by one of Dylan's most famous songs – "The Times They are A-Changin'" – and shows three stages of the his career, Kobra's website notes.

The 60-foot-tall, 150-foot-wide mural is permanent, and the hope is it will inspire more property owners to commission similar projects, which could help boost the arts and culture downtown and revitalize the area, Finance & Commerce says.

“Kobra’s new mural will add an invigorating and colorful international artwork to the downtown Cultural District and Hennepin Avenue,” Tom Hoch, President and CEO of Hennepin Theatre Trust, which was behind the project, said in a news release. “At the same time, it celebrates Bob Dylan who is not only one of Minnesota’s most admired native sons, but also a former owner of the Trust’s Orpheum Theatre.”
