This is a true story: 'Stillwater' in development for HBO

Oh geez, another prestige TV show set in Minnesota?

That appears to be the case, as HBO is overseeing a one-hour drama titled "Stillwater," Deadline reported.

The premise? The story follows "a New York City cop as his life spirals out of control when he relocates his family to a small town in Minnesota."

Very few names are attached to the project at this point, but Deadline details a few.

Howard Deutch, a longtime director and producer who recently inked a two-year development deal with HBO, will serve as an executive producer on "Stillwater." He's been involved with one of the channel's flagship shows "True Blood," and directed films such as "Pretty in Pink," "The Whole 10 Yards," and "Grumpier Old Men."

The latter appears to tie him to the reported writer for "Stillwater," Mark Steven Johnson. The 49-year-old Hastings native is listed as the project's sole penman at this point (and a producer), Studio System News reported.

Johnson wrote "Grumpy Old Men" and its sequel, "Grumpier Old Men" – both set (but not filmed in) in Wabasha. He's also credited with writing and directing a couple comic book flicks – "Ghost Rider" and "Daredevil."

Actor Colin Farrell is also involved as a producer.

Beyond that? We don't know much. No potential actors, no potential premiere date, nothing. So stay tuned.

In the meantime, you can get excited for season two of FX's "Fargo," which will take place about 40 years ago in Luverne, Minnesota, and Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Season two of “Fargo” will reportedly shoot from January through May in Calgary, and will premiere in the fall of 2015 at the earliest.
