Sheryl Crow is making her fourth and final concert stop in Minnesota this year as one of the headliners at the Minnesota State Fair this week, which gets underway Thursday.

The rocker-turned-country singer-songwriter Crow will play the grandstand at the Great Minnesota Get-Together Sunday, with country start Dwight Yoakam as her opening act.

Also playing the grandstand this week are a trio of '90s hitmakers -- Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray and the Gin Blossom -- in the "Under the Sun" tour Friday night; and former Van Halen singer and hit solo artist Sammy Hagar, brings his "Four Decades of Rock" tour to the fair Saturday.

The State Fair Grandstand series kicks off Thursday night with a stand-up show by a trio of former "Saturday Night Live" stars: Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller and Kevin Nealon.

The Star Tribune and Pioneer Press each preview of the entire State Fair Grandstand lineup.

Crow has been well-received at her Minnesota gigs so far this year, first playing at Black Bear Casino in Carlton in May and Mystic Lake Casino in Prior Lake in June, before headlining Macy's "Glamorama" at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis earlier this month. She has been touring in advance of her new country album, "Feels Like Home," which will be released Sept. 10.

Jon Bream of the Star Tribune reviewed Crow's Mystic Lake show in July, and said that there are definite signs that she is ready to go country.

There are also 12 stages of free acts going providing music and entertainment for the duration of the fair. Among the major acts this week are Sunny Sweeney Thursday and Friday, and Blue Oyster Cult Saturday and Sunday.

Also coming to Minnesota this week:

Acts playing the "Music in the Zoo" series this week at the Weesner Family Amphitheater at the Minnesota Zoo include Lyle Lovett & his Large Band Wednesday and The Robert Cray Band Sunday.

Minnesota-born singer and Broadway star Linda Eder will be joined by the Twin Cities Gay Men's Chorus for a concert at the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis Saturday.
