Fear turned to relief for police in Stearns County when a very young 911 caller told them "her baby was dead," but was actually referring to her doll.

The misunderstanding happened on Feb. 21, when dispatchers received a 911 hang-up from Sauk Township.

When dispatcher Aaron Rosenberger called back, he eventually made contact with a 3-year-old girl who said "her baby was dead."

This unsurprisingly prompted a swift 911 response, only for deputies arriving at the scene swiftly determining "that the 911 caller was a 3-year-old child and that the concern she had was that she was unable to wake her doll."

"After a brief chat with her parents everyone returned to their patrol car," the sheriff's office said. "No morning coffee was needed from that point on."
