Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers announce Twin Cities tour date

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are coming back to Minneapolis this summer, WCCO-TV reports.

The band announced its summer tour dates Thursday, which includes a stop at Target June 29.

The tour begins in Evansville, Ind., May 16, and wraps up with the Minneapolis date. The only other Midwest date is June 28 at Milwaukee's Summerfest.

Members of the band's Highway Companions Club will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for the Target Center show a couple days before the March 15 general sale date.

A 2002 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Tom Petty and Heartbreakers' hits include "Don't Do Me Like That," "Free Fallin'," "I Won't Back Down" and "American Girl."
