Friday sees the opening of the newest attraction from the team behind Robbinsdale's Travail Kitchen & Amusements and Pig Ate My Pizza.
This time it's Northeast Minneapolis that is getting in on the action, with the Minnesota BBQ Co. officially opening its doors at 5 p.m.
You can find it on Lowry Avenue, with the 750-square-foot premises primarily serving takeout customers, but will also deliver bites to nearby Fair State Brewing.
The Travail Collective says it will be ready on Friday with "ribs and brisket hot off the smoker, apple fennel slaw, creamed sweet potatoes, cucumber salad, and more."
It's being headed up by Kansas native and long-time Travail chef Kale Thome, whose previously given fans a taste of his barbecue creations while cooking out of the Robbinsdale eatery and at special events.
As well as the aforementioned ribs, brisket and accompaniments, Thome will also be dishing out brisket sandwiches, smoked duck, half chicken, apple bacon sausage, baked beans, house made pickles, and a sweet and savory sauce.
It comes at a time of great change for Travail, which is in the process of opening new premises for both Travail Kitchen & Amusements and Pig Ate My Pizza, both on their existing home of Broadway in Robbinsdale.
While Travail is closed down as its new restaurant is built, it's been running a temporary residency in Minneapolis' Lowry Hill, which continues till this August.
