Late Minnesota teen Zach Sobiech's hit song "Clouds" was performed by the Twin Cities Gospel Choir and singer Jearlyn Steele at the 2013 Dawn of a Dream gala in Minneapolis over the weekend, KARE 11 reports.

The gala Saturday was a benefit fundraiser organized by Children's Cancer Research Fund. The Lakeland singer-songwriter's parents accepted the organization's highest honor, the Dream Maker Award, on his behalf.

The award was presented to Rob and Laura Sobiech in a pre-taped message from Katie Couric. The ABC News personality hosted Zach Sobiech's mom and girlfriend on her talk show in late May.

Sobiech died on May 20 at the age of 18 from osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. He penned and performed "Clouds" as a goodbye song to his family and friends, and the video version of the tune went viral on YouTube.

Both KARE and the Pioneer Press posted the full performance of the song by Steele and the Twin Cities Gospel Choir.

At the time of his death, “Clouds” had more than 3 million views on YouTube. Today it has more than 8.3 million views.

Sobiech was honored with a posthumous regional Emmy Award in September for "Clouds" in the Musical Composition/Arrangement category.

Nine days after his death, "Clouds" topped the Billboard Digital Rock Songs chart.

KARE says Sobiech's Children's Cancer Research Fund efforts have raised more than $587,000 so far.
