Sierra, the cut-price sports and outdoor wear chain, will open two new stores in the Twin Cities next week.
The retailer, which is owned by TJ Maxx and was formerly known as Sierra Trading Post, will open its latest locations in Burnsville and Eden Prairie next Saturday, Oct. 3.
It will bring the retailer's presence in the Twin Cities to five stores, adding to existing locations in Eagan, Woodbury, and Richfield.
The new stores were announced back in early March, with reports at the time suggesting it was also planning a new store at Rosedale Center, though this has yet to be confirmed.
Sierra sells apparel, footwear and accessories that is "generally 20-60% below full-price retailers' ... regular prices on comparable merchandise."
"Sierra provides excellent value and selection on top brands and other high-quality apparel, footwear, and gear for your family’s active and outdoor lifestyle needs," said Gennifer Hobbs, Sierra marketing director, in a press release.
"We encourage everyone to participate in outdoor and fitness activities and want our products to appeal to everyone who shops with us in-store or online."
The stores will open at 9 a.m. on Oct. 3, with face masks required as per state rules. The company also says it has enhanced cleaning protocols in place, including protective shields at registers and frequently cleaned carts.
The Burnsville store, the larger of the two at 20,000 square foot, can be found at The Burnsville Marketplace at 14117 Aldrich Avenue S.
The 18,500 square foot Eden Prairie store can be found at Fountain Place, 12593 Castlemoor Drive.
Both stores are hiring full- and part-time workers. You can find more information here.
