Target has announced a new partnership with Ulta Beauty that will see the beauty store chain open "shop-in-shop" concepts in more than 100 Target stores.
The "strategic, long-term partnership" will see Ulta enter Target stores starting in 2021, as well as offering a number of its products on Target.com.
Target has been experimenting with the "shop-in-shop" concept in recent years, last year providing space in dozens of locations for Disney stores during the holiday shopping period.
While Ulta will initially debut in more than 100 Target stores next year, the long-term plan is to add "hundreds more over time," with a press statement saying the shops will "operate as an extension of the welcoming Ulta Beauty experience."
They will cover an area of about 1,000 square feet, and will be located to the existing beauty sections in Target stores.
Meanwhile, Target will hire new workers to staff the Ulta shops.
"This partnership is an amazing way to further reimagine guest experiences with a partner who shares our company values," said Mary Dillon, Ulta Beauty CEO.
"We are thrilled to bring our beauty expertise, unparalleled assortment and digital innovation to life in a new channel to delight and deepen loyalty with our existing guests and introduce Ulta Beauty to new guests.”
