Valleyfair makes Top 10 of America's most affordable theme parks

It scored in four categories: parking, adult ticket prices, meal deals and lodging.
Publish date:

Valleyfair, the largest amusement park in the Upper Midwest (and therefore the largest in Minnesota), has been named one of the country's top theme park destinations for families keeping an eye on their budget.

Located in Shakopee, the tourist attraction was declared the 8th most affordable amusement park in the U.S. by HomeToGo, a search engine for vacation rentals.

The site ranked 50 such parks by four factors: parking, "adult anyday 1-day ticket" prices, meal deals and "accommodation for one night."

All four, in total, will set you back just $105.45 at Valleyfair. Compare that with the park at the bottom of the list, Universal Studios Hollywood in California, where all those tally up to nearly $300 (not including travel expenses, of course).

Here's the full Top 10, with prices included:

Winning 1st place was Oklahoma's Frontier City; in 10th place was Iowa's Adventureland.

According to an email from HomeToGo to BringMeTheNews, Valleyfair moved up four places from last year.
