Valleyfair to hire 2,000 new seasonal workers for summer 2019

Three hiring events will be held in February.

If you're looking for a summer job, Valleyfair is hiring.

The theme park in Shakopee announced on Tuesday that it'll be hiring 2,000 new staff for the 2019 season, which gets underway on Saturday, May 11.

Positions will start at $12-an-hour, while benefits include free entry to the theme park, discounts on food and merchandise, and access to employee-only ride nights.

Most of the positions are available to those aged 16 and older, though a limited number of jobs required a minimum age of 14 years.

It also says the positions will be flexible, offering a "choose-your-own-hours" scheduling system allowing staff to work as much or as little as they'd like.
