Valleyfair in Shakopee will unveil its largest ever event, Grand Carnivale, starting this weekend.
The event will begin on July 24 and run on select dates through Aug. 8. Kicking off at 3 p.m., Grand Carnivale will feature food, music and entertainment inspired by countries like India, Italy, China, Spain and Germany, according to the announcement.
“We are excited to produce this new immersive event on a scale that Valleyfair guests have never seen before,” said Raul Rehnborg, Valleyfair general manager, in a statement.
“Grand Carnivale will be an incredible and unique experience that you will want to share with family and friends.”
Grand Carnivale will include a parade featuring six floats and almost 100 street performers. And entertainment like musicians, acrobats, dancers and singers will be featured on the Superior Stage.
Twenty different dishes inspired by different countries will be offered during the festival, along with various cocktails and other drinks. Crafts for kids will also be a part of the event.
Grand Carnivale tickets are included with general admission to the park.
The event was originally slated for last summer, but the opening was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
