Video: MN brothers use their massive snow sculpture to help people in need

They hope to raise $25K to help people without clean drinking water.

Maybe you've heard of the Bartz brothers. They're the guys who build those awesome, massive snow sculptures in New Brighton every winter. Their work has even gotten national attention.

But the 350 hours they put into building this year's 22-foot-tall snow fish is for more than all the publicity – it's to raise money for people who don't have clean drinking water.

"Our sculptures are made from water and we have a water theme," Austin Bartz told GoMN. So raising money for water makes perfect sense.

After their fourth sculpture, Austin said they realized they had the ability to make a bigger impact. So last year, they decided to raise money for One Day's Wages, which helps provide clean drinking water.

Last year's goal was $10,000, and they raised $17,250.

So this year's goal is a bit higher: $25,000. The brothers haven't reached it yet, but they're well on their way. All funds raised this year will go to help people in Malawi, Africa.

Previously, the brother's built an octopus, sea turtle, shark, walrus and pufferfish.
