Video: Women stuck on inflatable rainbow unicorn rescued from Minnesota lake

Publish date:

Unicorns are fictional, but five women stuck on a giant, inflatable unicorn was certainly real in Chisago County on Saturday.

The bizarre spectacle unfolded on Fish Lake near Stark, Minnesota when two sheriff's deputies were passing by and noticed the rainbow unicorn floating on the lake with the ladies on its back.

Pulling over to ask for a picture, the deputies realized that the women were in fact in a spot of bother, as they were stuck in the lake's thick weeds.

Cue one of the more unlikely rescues seen in Minnesota in a long time, as they threw a rope out to the stranded lake-goers and reeled them in.

"With a handful of laughs and some mad rescue roping skills they were pulled back to the dock!" the Chisago County Sheriff's Office said on Twitter.

If you're interested in replicating the scenes (sans the rescue), one of those floating unicorn islands – which can carry up to 6 people – will set you back $299 from eBay.
