bear Circle Pines

Apologies for getting this to readers three days after the fact, but earlier this week (Wednesday) the Centennial Lakes Police Department posted video of a black bear running through Circle Pines.

The Facebook post says

"Bear Sighting in Circle Pines - this past Monday afternoon a bear was sighted in the pavilion area off Village Parkway, and also behind city hall in Circle Pines. The bear was later sighted in Lino Lakes. The bear has not been captured. Please remember bears are wild animals and should not be approached by people or domestic animals. If you see a bear please call 911 immediately. A resident captured the attached video of the bear."

The approximate location of where the bear was spotted in Circle Pines is near the intersection of Lake Drive and Lexington Ave. NE. There are numerous apartments, town homes and businesses in the area, including Frattallone's Ace Hardware, McDonald's and U.S. Bank.

The Minnesota DNR encourages anyone who sees a black bear to report it, which you can do online right here
