Watch: Fourth of July parade brought to a stop by U.S. airman's proposal

He popped the question during the Forest Lake parade.

A military serviceman chose the Fourth of July parade in Forest Lake to ask a very special question.

The man in question was James McArthur, who drew eyes mid-way through the parade when he got down on one knee to propose to his girlfriend Alyssa Smith.

She said "yes," with the moment captured on camera by McArthur's aunt Kate Ash and shared to social media.

McArthur next week will deploy to Iraq for nine months for the U.S. Air Force, for whom he is a technical sergeant.
