An expertly filmed drone video tour has thrust Bryant Lake Bowl and Theater of south Minneapolis into the international spotlight, racking up millions upon millions of views.
The roughly 90-second single shot video takes the viewer throughout the entire building, including behind the pins of the bowling alley and around the theater and restaurant.
Among the breathtaking moments is the drone flying beneath the legs of one bowler, and the drone being flown into the mechanism behind the pin machine.
To make the video more Minnesotan, the audio dubbed over it includes bowlers saying lines from The Big Lebowski, directed by St. Louis Park natives The Coen Brothers.
Drone pilot Jay Christensen and director Anthony Jaska, of Rally Studios, told Fox 9 they placed a GoPro camera on the FPV drone and did multiple takes before shooting the perfect, one-shot video.
Christensen has previously created popular flyover videos of St. Paul and Minneapolis for Sky Candy Studios, of which he is the head of operations and which provides drones for Rally Studios, said Sky Candy founder Michael Welsh.
The video has garnered attention from the likes of Gizmodo, Daily Mail and Marvel Cinematic Universe director James Gunn, who tweeted that he would like Christensen and Jaska "to come with us to London" when he shoots Guardians of the Galaxy 3.
