Watch: Red Wing police officer chases suspect, has an issue with a fence

They say it's important to be able to laugh at yourself.

And the Red Wing Police Department is proving it can do that.

The department's Facebook page posted the video you can watch above on Thursday – making it pretty clear they're having fun with it.

The department said it's in a "silly" mood, and led with: "Bad day at work? Here is a laugh for you."

It's from 2013, and shows an officer chasing a shoplifting suspect. The officer tries to hop a fence – and it doesn't go so well.

"Officer Steffen was not injured and Menards had no problem repairing their fence given the nature of this incident. The suspect was apprehended, charge and convicted," the post says.
